The pistols of Canik are inexpensive and packed with features, offering an elegant feel. It sports a match quality barrel, a reversible ambidextrous slide stop, decocker, and a chamber indicator. Additionally, it has back and front serrations aswell as an MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail. The trigger is built-in, together with the slot for mounting red dot sights.

The TP9SFx is very comfortable to grip. The texture at the edges of the gun will be great for majority of shooters but some people have extremely sweaty or slick hands, it might cause issues holding the firearm. Two rows in between the outside and middle row feature a low profile and are not able to grab the fingers. The rest of the texture, however, is beneficial in many scenarios.

It is ambidextrous as well as reverse-able, making it ideal for people who have left handed hands. The gun is set so in the back that left-handed shooters must manually move the slide using their thumb. This is a little odd compared with other pistols which do it the same way.

In spite of this it’s worth noting that it’s still a good gun. Canik has been reliable in my trials. It’s shot decent groups at 7, 10 or 15 yards when using 115-grain FMJ ammunition. Its single-action ergonomic trigger can be very fast to reset.

It’s a good choice for those looking for a gun which is durable and comes with many features.

The TP9SFx pistol is fantastic weapon, but there are some areas that can be done better. The Cerakote doesn’t have the greatest finish it’s not as durable and lasts just for as long as the other premium guns made by companies like Grey Ghost Precision. The gun also has sharp edges along the slide, which are evident from the wearing holsters. Some guns feature smoother finishes. It’s a modest price to pay for such an outstanding pistol particularly at the cost the gun is being sold for.

The pistol is fitted with two magazines of 18 rounds that have been fitted flush with an increase of 2-inches. It allows you to receive maximum 20 rounds for each magazine. Canik offers the METE SFT along with an SFx Rival, which are made for civil society competitive shooting straight out of the package. These models are equipped with upgraded features, like fiber sights, cutting the slide to lighten it as well as a barrel that is slightly longer. They are a great option in the hands of USPSA Open and Carry Optics Division shooters.

The Canik TP9SFX was tested in 15 yards, using various factory ammunition. It has the ability to give respectable groups with most rounds I played, as well as some more challenging hollow-point rounds. It’s more tolerant to lighter bullets but still delivered groups well lower than 2.5 inches.

The pistol is comfortable in the hand. Its grip is comfortable despite the 5.2″ barrel. The pistol also comes with 20 round magazines. There are indentation marks at the back of the strap where it is possible to rest your thumb in order to decrease trigger reach. There’s also the index is textured to support your hand. The only negative is that the magwell hasn’t been flared, this could create problems for certain stages of the production class of the USPSA.

The trigger is flat-faced aluminum with vertical serrations that provide some grip. The trigger is very easy to use and has a feel many people Buycanik.com like. The slide is constructed from aluminum with serrations on the hammer that allow it to control. The slide has some knurling but it’s not the sharp appearance of Beretta or Benelli.

The FAQ

Canik’s pistols are made to compete right from the start. It’s reliable and flat-shooting, and comes with optics-mounting plates. The MSRP is $550.

It includes numerous of the same characteristics as a USPSA Production Class gun which include an adjustable mag well, ambidextrous charge handle and Warren Tactical sighting. Also, it has an 5.2 match barrel and two 20-round magazines. It is an ideal alternative for shooting competitions within the USPSA Carry Optics division and you can also compete with similar models like that of the Glock 34 within the Open class if you want to shoot really large.

There are a few things I wish the Canik TP9SFx had better but overall it is an excellent firearm. The trigger is excellent and this pistol is one of the most compact striker-fired pistols on the market. Its grip is excellent and the ergonomics are excellent. It’s however more difficult to shoot than the Glock. It’s due to it being more heavy and has a larger slide than the Glock.

The magazine is yet another thing I’m not a fan of. It’s a little lengthy, and it’s a strange shape. It can be hard dropping a gun if you are using a tight-fitting gun holster. This is the most common issue for left-handed versions of this gun.

The stippling of the grips don’t provide a lot of traction. This could be an issue particularly if your hands are sweaty or if the stippling gets damp.

The Cerakote design on this pistol is mediocre at Buycanik.com most. This Cerakote isn’t as robust as the high-end work found on items like Grey Ghost Precision. The colour fades over time and becomes worn-out prematurely. The finish is able to do a good job of removing dirt and particles, but it’s not quite as robust as I would have liked to have seen on a firearm which will be used in a rough area.

Conclusions

The Canik TP9SFX is one of the very popular pistol for competition, offering top-of-the-line attributes at a reasonable price. The pistol is offered in different colors along with several accessories that modify the shooting experience. The gun can be used in many different ways including shooting competitions with handguns as well as defence at home.

This pistol features an extended slide lock/release feature that allows shooters to better hold the firearm when reloading. It can be an advantage for shooters who are left-handed. The attention to detail demonstrates the fact that Canik is concerned about the needs of their clients and wishes for them to be able to utilize the firearm in the best manner possible.

A further great benefit of the Canik TP9SFX is its slide serrations. They decrease the weight and allow you to manipulate the slide. There’s also an edging on the bottom of the barrel for guns that have lasers or lights mounted on them. This is a great feature for people who want to brighten their targets and be able see them when they shoot at an extended long distance.

Certain TP9s are equipped with basic iron sights. There are others that have a fibre optic front sight to improve sighting distances at close ranges. It also comes with the rear sight, which can be taken off to install different red-dot sights, which can make it a highly versatile gun. Certain TP9 Elite Combat pistols come equipped with an Vortex Viper Red-Dot Sight from the factory.

In spite of the extensive list of capabilities, there are certain areas in which the Canik T9SFX fails to meet the standards. Cerakote is one of the options that wears faster than the other top finishes. In time it is possible that the Glock knuckle can develop the gun.

A different issue concerns the trigger. Although the trigger on the TP9SFX is extremely smooth, it’s not very precise. Shooters who like to compete or shoot high round counts may find this a problem. Also, it can pose an issue for those with smaller hands, who might find it difficult to reach the trigger.
